NORMANBob Stoops secured a trio of verbal commitments Thursday, padding already-deep positions on the Oklahoma football roster.

The most notable commitment is wideout DeJuan Miller, of Metuchen (N.J.). Miller is listed a four-star prospect by Scout.com and caught 29 passes for 575 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior. On defense, Miller logged 52 tackles and seven interceptions.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound receiver picked the Sooners over Boston College, Michigan, Penn State and Rutgers, among others. He's also garnered recruiting interest as a basketball player.

If Miller's commitment holds, he will join underclassmen receivers Tyler Stradford, Ryan Broyles, Londell Taylor and Corey Wilson in 2008.

Three-star tight end James Hanna committed after attending Stoops' football camp in Norman this week.

"I was actually talking with an old friend the other day and we remembered how we used to pretend that we would be playing for OU,” Hanna told Scout.com.

The Flower Mound (Texas) prospect earned second-team all-district honors after catching 20 passes for 350 yards and two scores as a junior. Hanna also holds offers from Arizona, Louisville, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.

Hanna's major selling point is his speed. His 4.53-second time in the 40-yard dash impressed coaches at the Scout.com Combine in Dallas earlier this spring, especially considering his size: 6-foot-5, 216.

Hanna and Sooner quarterback commit Landry Jones were "nearly inseparable” during camp, according to a report on Rivals.com.

Garland (Texas) defensive tackle Casey Walker also committed after a strong camp session at OU this week.

The 6-foot-1, 290-pound prospect hadn't garnered as much fanfare as Miller and Hanna, but still received several offers.

Walker reportedly bench presses 400-plus pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.22 seconds.

He's currently rated a one-star prospect by Scout.com.

Oklahoma State picked up a commitment from running back Travis Miller. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder is from Marlin, Texas.
