WASHINGTON — U.S. Marine Sgt. Greg Edwards sat on the swimming pool's edge at Walter Reed Army Medical Center last week, adjusting his gear for his first attempt at scuba diving.

His prosthetic legs lay behind him on the floor. His real legs were blown off in Ramadi , Iraq , in October.

He always wanted to scuba dive, but never made the time.
