A New York City resident wants someone to find him a good health insurance plan with a deductible under $100.
Another man wants someone to clean his ears.
These people among thousands of others have discovered the joys of Domystuff.com
Do you need your shower cleaned but hate to do it yourself? Maybe you want someone to wash your clothes or do your grocery shopping.
DoMyStuff.com could be just the solution you are looking for.
The Web site links "employers” with "assistants” locally and worldwide. Now, you can outsource your dirty work. The site features a bidding system where assistants can bid on jobs and potential employers choose from the bidders. The site also allows businesses that provide services to showcase their abilities and grow their businesses.
The site is hosted by Metro Enterprises Inc., "an incubating company” in Beverly Hills that takes ideas for Internet sites and puts them into action. The site's creators, Stacy Stubblefield, Darren Berkovitz, David Gonen and Omri Cohen, came up with the idea when Berkovitz wished aloud that he could outsource someone to find him a girlfriend.
"The site has had a lot of interest from people around the world,” Stubblefield said. "It's really surprising us, the kinds of tasks people can come up with. One guy wanted his ears cleaned. We thought he was kidding around, but he was totally serious. Another man in New York wanted someone to set up his proposal to his girlfriend.”
Employers pay no fees for posting their tasks, and it is free for assistants to bid on tasks. If an assistant's bid is accepted by the employer, the assistant pays between 7 percent and 10 percent (usually) of the bid amount to the Web site.
Tasks vary from housecleaning and grocery shopping to ear cleaning and video editing. Since it's debut in March, more than 8,000 assistants have registered on the site and are waiting to do your dirty work. DoMyStuff.com could make your life easier and provide some relief from the daily grind.
