•Background: Leisure Time RV's days of not being visible from the interstate are almost over. The recreation vehicle dealer is breaking ground on a 20,000-square-foot location near Interstate 40 and Anderson Road, next month.
"We fully expect to double our business in the next two to five years,” co-owner Ron Walker said.
The company will move in January.
Walker said Leisure Time's business has tripled in the last six years.
"I think we are maxed out in what we can do from this building,” he said of the current location.
Leisure Time will add four to six employees, Walker said. He said business will dictate additional growth.
Walker said the store, which will be built on more than 10 acres, will double Leisure Time's size, allowing more indoor show space. Walker said the increased space is necessary for the growing clientele of the RV industry.
Recreational vehicles traditionally have been linked to the retirement community, but Walker said he's watched those demographics change over the years.
"It's really exciting to see the younger families grab hold of the camping lifestyle,” he said.
Leisure Time's $2.5 million in inventory includes towables such as toy haulers, tent trailers and fifth wheels.
