Fireworks and music
1.Celebrate July Fourth at the inaugural Red, White & Boom on the River. The festivities will kick off at 4 p.m. Monday with the KOMA-FM 92.5 Rock and Roll Reunion on the River, featuring Blood, Sweat and Tears and more, plus fireworks. There's music at 4 p.m. Tuesday with the KMGL-FM 104.1 Patriotic Pops on the River, and more fireworks. Catch more bands on two stages — and still more fireworks — at KKNG-FM 93.3's Red Dirt on the River, starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Jazzy June concludes
2.NORMAN — The 24th annual Jazz in June festival is in full swing this weekend. Hear the Big G Jazz Trio and the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey tonight in the Brookhaven Village parking lot, 3700 N Robinson.
Miss Brown to You, Edmar Castaneda, Garaj Mahal and Joel Young and Friends will perform Saturday night, also at Brookhaven.

Sweet taste of LibertyFest
3.EDMOND — The annual LibertyFest is this weekend. A Taste of Edmond lets you sample foods from local restaurants. The event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in downtown Edmond, near Broadway and Second Street. Taste all you want for $10 per adult. Children 10 and younger eat free.
You also can catch KiteFest, a car show, a rodeo and the annual road rally this weekend in Edmond, leading up to a parade, festival and fireworks on July Fourth. For a full schedule, go online to www.libertyfest.com.
Five years of Ford
4.Celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Ford Center at the free All Access Tour 2007. Skate with the Blazers, get out on the field with the Yard Dawgz and hear live music from The Click Five, Blake O., Cardinal Trait and more. Sample desserts, entrees and appetizers from the Ford Center's restaurants.

Patriotic salute
5.YUKON — Kick off your Fourth of July celebration a day early with a Tribute to Yukon Veterans. The salute includes music from Mike Black and the Stingrays and Irv Wagner's Concert Band — and fireworks. It begins at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in Chisholm Trail Park, 500 W Vandement.
A car show, children's parade, craft tents, petting zoo and (of course) fireworks are part of Yukon's Freedom Fest, starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Chisholm Trail Park and Yukon City Park, 2200 S Holly. For more information, call 350-8937.
Who's a good dog?
6.From Airedales to Yorkshire terriers, you'll see breeds battle to be named top dog at this weekend's OKC Summer Classic Dog Shows. See more than 145 American Kennel Club breeds and get up close with the canines at the Meet the Breeds booths.

Paradise by the Dashboard Confessional
7.Indie rock group Dashboard Confessional headlines KJ 103's Summer Jam. Local rockers Minutes Too Far open the show, and there's more music from Saving Jane, Blake O., Kat DeLuna and "American Idol” runner-up Katharine McPhee.

2.DUNCAN — The July Jam offers plenty of live family entertainment at a campout and jam festival at Shady Oaks RV Park. Huckleberry fest without Tom
3.JAY — The Huckleberry Festival offers a car show, five-kilometer run, carnival, parade, games, music, arts and crafts. Slow and steady could win
4.VIAN — The Run for the Clovers Box Turtle Race offers family fun at the Driftwood Nature Center. Watermelon, hayrides, games and a box turtle rally highlight the Tenkiller State Park event. There is also a beauty contest for box turtles and a member of their pit crew. Please do not paint anything on your turtle and contact the park for race regulations.

Hey, hoss!
6.PAULS VALLEY — Heritage Days Rodeo features saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling, girls' barrel racing and bull riding. Other attractions include a live band each night and appearances by Miss Rodeo USA.
