Adrian Peterson is expected to miss the start of Minnesota's training camp when players report Wednesday.

Peterson, the former star running back from Oklahoma, is still unsigned, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, but negotiations are ongoing.

Peterson was the first pick for the Vikings in the first round.

None of top 10 picks in the NFL draft have signed with their teams. What higher picks sign for usually helps to determine what lower picks will get from their teams.

Members of the Vikings report Wednesday and begin practicing Friday.

Although many picks go through it, it really ends up hurting the rookie. Peterson will get paid but first concern is that he is in camp. The man is going to make millions and anyone can say that what if. My response what if "what if" ran our lives? then nothin gwould get done. Get in camp and you will get what you deserve maybe later but last I checked you cannot get paid until you work. AD I hope you made a wise choice in the agent you picked and do not miss to much camp.

AD should get paid what the market dictates. He should receive an amount less than the first six picks. These picks are also unsigned. He should be concerned with his family and himself, not with fans, media or viking magement. The Vikings and the NFL have already made money off of him with jersey sales and have used his image in advertising and promotion. The Vikings have had since April to sign him and they didn't get it done. If they want him on the team they will pay him. By the way, how would it help the team or league to deny a player to play the next year if they hold out?
And while there are peole who would love to go pro, they may not have the ability and no team pays a player without ability.

I wish all these guys would reach a deal before camp and sign so they can get on with their preparation with their TEAMS! So what if the contract is a little less than expected. . . I hear there is money to be made in illegal dog fighting ;-) ! jk, Go A.D.!!

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who holds out and misses any training camp days, should be barred from playing until next year. If they want to go into business, then do so, but if they want to play football, then play football. All these hold outs are what has driven up the prices so that most people can't even afford to go see a game. There are tons of football players out there who would love the opportunity to "Go Pro" and would gladly do so without trying to gouge the teams. I like AD and enjoyed watching him play, but he needs to go play. His team took a chance on his injury prone body. He should show some appreciation for that. Play, or get out of the game.

Make no mistake about it pro sports are business first and sports second. Always has been and always will be. AD is now a buisnessman and has to make sure he handles his business. You can't run a football forever, and you can't undo the abuse his body will take.

Negotiate, Negotiate, & Negotiate Some More.

Why should anyone be a member of a team when they miss the first of training camp? I know, I know, it's always about money.
