Health officials still unsure what caused child's skin rash

LAWTON — State health officials still are trying to determine the cause of a skin rash on a Lawton patient that shut down a hospital for several hours when doctors feared it was smallpox.

Test results for the virus used in the smallpox vaccination came back negative Friday, said Kristy Bradley , state epidemiologist.
