Sooners want secondary violation stricken

After consulting with a fellow Big 12 Conference school, the University of Oklahoma wants the NCAA to strike a self-reported secondary rules violation from its record.

It's not cheating. Putting a jersey up with a players number is just common sense. I took trips to Princeton and Harvard and they also went to the trouble of hanging up my number in their locker room. It's just a nice gesture for the recruits. Pretty soon the NCAA will have coach's recruiting in confesion boxes so that the players and coches can't see each other.

Most Sooners I've talked to use the excuse, "Well, everyone else is doing it!" to accept Sooner cheating, so why should we expect them to not challenge any kind of minor penalty.
