Man injured in chase
A man was hit by a car Monday after he ran from Edmond police during a traffic stop, officials said
.
Calvin Borders, 18, of Oklahoma City was thrown 10 feet in the air and his shoes were knocked off his feet when he was hit, said Glynda Chu, Edmond police spokeswoman. The driver, a woman who was on her lunch break, was not injured.
Borders had been a passenger in a vehicle with two other men and a juvenile female. Police stopped the vehicle at Ridgecrest Road and Boulevard for running a red light and not having a tail light, Chu said. When the car stopped, Borders and another backseat passenger ran.
Borders continued to run from police after he was hit. An officer found him about a block away.
He was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital. His condition was not available Monday.
Borders faces resisting arrest and possession of marijuana complaints. The second man, Jonathan Ingersol, 19, later turned himself in to police. He faces a possession of marijuana complaint.
The driver, Bryce McCleary, 18, Edmond, was arrested on possession of marijuana and disregarding a red light complaints. A 17-year-old female was arrested on a possession of marijuana complaint.

What happened
It is unclear who was in the home when the child was injured, but it was the boy's mother, Janet Stewart, who called for help. Paramedics said it appeared the boy fell about 3 to 4 feet in his closet and hit his head on a bed, according to a report released Monday.
Chu said emergency workers originally thought he only had a concussion.
Previous investigation
This boy was at the center of a child abuse investigation last year.
On Jan. 9, 2006, Oklahoma City and Edmond police were called when the boy was taken for treatment of injuries to his genital area and dehydration, a police report states.
In the 2006 case, Declan was taken to the Neighborhood Family Clinic, 5909 Northwest Expressway, and later transferred to The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, reports show. The boy, 3 years old at the time, was admitted to the hospital.
A Department of Human Service worker was called to the hospital and the boy was placed into protective custody, a police report shows.
Numerous attempts to reach Declan's family Monday by The Oklahoman were unsuccessful.
