Texas' Sherrod Harris, a speedy redshirt freshman vying to be quarterback Colt McCoy's backup, suffered a sprained left knee ligament on Sunday night during practice, the Austin American-Statesman reported Monday.

The Texas training staff has not set a timetable for Harris' return.
•No change: The three-man battle for Oklahoma's starting quarterback job didn't get any tighter after Saturday's scrimmage, offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said.
"I think as we get through this week, we've got to get to that point,” Wilson said of trimming the competition. "We need to probably start making decisions.
"We'll see what happens as we go through (the next day or two).”
In Monday morning's practice, Joey Halzle, Sam Bradford and Keith Nichol split playing time equally.
Wilson admits the run game suffered in Saturday's scrimmage because he felt a need to see the quarterbacks throw the ball more.
"Not meaning to, I got a little pass happy. We called maybe 70 passes out of 100 plays,” Wilson said. "As much as we're trying to figure out the quarterback, we've got to try to keep our identity as an offense and not lose what we're gonna be and how we're gonna play.”
Wilson said the team has a short scrimmage scheduled at the end of practice Wednesday night, then the second major scrimmage of training camp for 6 p.m. Saturday.
•OU injury update: Senior free safety Darien Williams and offensive tackle Branndon Braxton returned to practice Monday.
For Williams, it was the first practice of the year. Offseason knee surgery kept him out of spring practice, and a surgically repaired stress fracture in his foot forced him to miss the beginning of training camp.
"He was a little rusty out there,” defensive coordinator Brent Venables said. "Gotta get to communicating, quit thinking. But it was good to see him back.”
Braxton's ankle injury was minor.
"Branndon did a great job,” offensive line coach James Patton said. "He was back full speed.”
