•At the plate:
The RedHawks won for the seventh time in eight games. They hit three home runs, by Nate Gold, Dave Matranga and Tug Hulett. Gold has 22 homers, five in the last seven games. Gold, Matranga and Freddy Guzman had three hits each Tuesday.
•On the mound:
RedHawks starter and winner Edinson Volquez was brilliant, allowing only two hits in seven scoreless innings. He raised his RedHawks record to 6-1 and lowered his ERA to 1.60. No New Orleans batter reached second base.
•In the field:
The RedHawks' next six games come in a five-day series at Nashville. The Sounds have the best record in the PCL and are 9-3 against Oklahoma City.
The PCL American South records are Albuquerque 67-62, the RedHawks 66-63 and New Orleans 66-65. The RedHawks have 15 games remaining, including four at home against New Orleans and four at Albuquerque to end the regular season.
Texas is returning relief pitcher A.J. Murray to the RedHawks and will call up a relief pitcher, possibly Scott Feldman.
