Just before the rain and lighting moved in, stock car driver Steve Smith drove to two feature wins Friday night at State Fair Speedway.

Smith won the pro stock feature, then hopped in his USA modified car and drove to another win, this time finishing in front of points leader Stanley Reed Jr.

Smith is fourth in both point standings. With just two races left this season, Reed is the likely modified champ, while Mark Brill holds a solid lead in the pro stocks.

Dustin Buntin helped secure his second-place slot in the factory stock points race with a feature win. Buntin drove past Andy Gordon on the fourth lap of the feature to take the lead.

Andrew Tillison Jr. was second. Factory stock leader Kevin Becker finished 15th but had a 130-point lead over Buntin after Friday's races.

Robert Sellers led the super sprint feature race by nearly half of a lap by the time he crossed the finish line.

Brandon Jennings, the youngest member of the Jennings racing clan, finished second, and Jeff Leep, the grandson of dirt car legend Harold Leep Sr., ran third. Super sprint points leader Chris Burns finished fourth. Burns has a 350-point lead over Danny Jennings.

The final weekend of racing for the 2007 championships at State Fair is Friday and Sunday. Friday night's races start at 7:30 p.m. Sunday's races start at 7. Gates will open Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
