The injury threatens to end his season and derail his bid for a second world championship.

McBride, the 2005 world champion, dislocated his left shoulder in the first round of the Chihuahua Challenge and was unable to compete the next two nights.

McBride, 27, was scheduled to undergo medical tests on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. McBride has dominated the PBR tour this season, setting a single-season record this year by winning seven events.

There are only six regular-season stops left before the PBR world finals in Las Vegas, Nev. The next tour stop is Sept. 7-9 in Reno, Nev.

Brazilian bull rider Guilherme Marchi won the Chihuahua Challenge. Oklahoma bull rider J.W. Hart of Overbrook finished fourth.
