NORMAN — In 1986, the Miami Hurricanes firmly cemented their reputation as college football's renegades.

In the middle of a pregame function with Penn State at the Fiesta Bowl , the Hurricanes unzipped their sweat suits, revealing army fatigues, and walked out — signaling their were going to war with the Nittany Lions .
