El Reno man is accused of raping girl

EL RENO — A 46-year-old man was being held Wednesday in the Canadian County jail following his arrest on a complaint of raping a 6-year-old girl, Police Chief Fred Savage said.

Donald Eugene Pennel of El Reno was arrested Aug. 30 after the girl's aunt called police, Savage said. The aunt told police she caught Pennel inappropriately touching the girl.

Pennel's bail was set at $50,000.
