•Tickets: $10 for reserved; $7 for general admission; $4 for students
•Why bother: If you've never been to a Union-Jenks game, get to this one. Several publications have called this the best high school rivalry in the country, and it's hard to argue. The 6A champion has come from this game every year since 1997.
•Getting there: Take Interstate 44 East to Tulsa. Exit at Harvard and head north to 11th.
•Eating there: Sure, it's turned into a franchise with restaurants spread out across several states, but Rib Crib started just down the street from the University of Tulsa, where the "Backyard Bowl” will be played yet again. Check out the original location at 1601 S. Harvard.
•Why root for Jenks: "Because of the tradition and all the state championships we've had. We're starting another streak. We won six in a row before, and I don't think there's any reason we can't win six again.” — Mark Ginther, QB, Jenks
•Why root for Union: "Because you never know what to expect in this game. It's always been a shoot-out, and I think people can expect that again.” — Brandon Rogers, QB, Tulsa Union
•Make sure you shake hands with: The people from NFL Films and Cox. NFL Films is filming for a series to air on Versus in October, while Cox is offering the game on a special "End Zone” package that will feature four camera angles on one channel. Viewers can select which audio to hear from the four feeds.
