•Sam Bradford and DeMarco Murray: The redshirt freshmen duo had quite the debut. Bradford completed 21 of 23 passes for 363 yards and three TDs. Murray rushed 17 times for 87 yards and five TDs.

•The Sooners vs. Miami: If it weren't for the Hurricanes, OU might have two more national championships in its trophy case. Instead, Miami gashed the Sooners in the mid-1980s, winning three straight, including the 1987 season Orange Bowl.
•Miami's offense: The Hurricanes did score 31 points against Marshall, but last season only averaged 19.6 points a game, ranking 87th in the country. In only two games, however, did Miami score at least four touchdowns. Those opponents? Florida A&M and Florida International.
