Marine Corps Cpl. Bryan Joseph Scripsick, 22, of Pauls Valley was killed by a suicide bomber in Anbar Province, family members confirmed.

Scripsick joined the Marines on Aug. 22, 2004, one day after his 19th birthday. He graduated in 2004 from Pauls Valley High.

"He loved what he did and he loved his country. He was proud to be a Marine,” said Brett Scripsick, his older brother. "He was pretty much the nicest and sweetest kid.”

Bryan Scripsick had 11½ months left in his tour of duty, according to his MySpace.com Web page. He posted several pictures taken in Iraq.

He wrote on the site that he enjoyed hanging out on the beach and playing football with friends. He also enjoyed watching "Ultimate Fighting Championship” television programs.

"Have fun, stay young,” he wrote on his page.

Services are pending with Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home in Pauls Valley.
