The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder from McKinney, Texas, is listed a four-star prospect by Rivals. He holds offers from Florida, Louisiana State, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M.

Fuller was one of several high-profile recruits to visit Norman last weekend for OU's game against Miami. He was scheduled to visit Florida and Ohio State but announced Wednesday he wouldn't take any more visits.

Oklahoma has 16 non-binding verbal commitments for the 2008 recruiting class, 11 of which are from Texas.

Appeal filed: Oklahoma President David Boren announced Wednesday that the university has filed its written appeal of parts of the NCAA's ruling regarding the investigation of two football players being paid for work they didn't perform.

"We just got acknowledgment that (the appeal) has been received and in process,” Boren told The Associated Press.

OU filed a notice of appeal July 20 and two weeks later received a letter from the NCAA, which set a Sept. 7 deadline for the university's written appeal.

The NCAA infractions committee has 30 days from the receipt of the written appeal to offer a response. After that, OU will have 14 days to submit a rebuttal, at which time the NCAA appeals committee will consider the appeal and report its decision.

OU is appealing the NCAA infractions committee's "failure to monitor” finding, which regards the employment of its student-athletes and the penalty requiring the football team to vacate eight wins from the 2005 season.

Caleb out: OU co-offensive coordinator Kevin Sumlin confirmed that second-string receiver Brandon Caleb will not play Saturday.

Caleb, a sophomore, suffered what coach Bob Stoops called a slight knee sprain during practice last week. Coaches have offered no timetable for Caleb's return.

Tickets returned: Utah State returned a limited number of tickets for Saturday's game at Oklahoma.

Tickets can be purchased online at Soonersports.com, by phone at 800-456-4668 or in person at the ticket office on the west side of Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium during regular business hours.

Tickets for the game are $47. The 2:30 p.m. game is being televised on a pay-per-view basis.
