•Sam Bradford: Bradford is third in the country in passing efficiency, having completed almost 80 percent of his passes in his first three starts. Bradford also has 11 TD passes to 1 INT, and the Sooners lead the nation in scoring, averaging 61.3 points per game.

•Paul Smith: Smith is fifth in passing efficiency, thanks to his career-best 454-yard, 5-TD performance in a 55-47 victory against Brigham Young last weekend. Smith is second on Tulsa's all-time list in career yards (6,632) and touchdown passes (44) with 28 career starts.

• OU's schedule strength: So far, it seems, Tulsa is OU's only opponent that has done better than expected. Texas needed five field goals to edge Central Florida. Texas A&M needed triple-overtime to outlast Fresno State. And Oklahoma State looked completely inferior to the third-best program in Alabama. If the Sooners are to jump USC, LSU and Florida in the polls, they'll need some of their own opponents to start playing better.

• Tulsa defense: The Golden Hurricane allowed 694 yards of total offense to BYU, including 537 yards passing. Last year, Tulsa had a good defense, but this year only 11 schools have allowed more yards per game than the Golden Hurricane.
