Williams' injury hurt Dotson
It's understandable when the bond between teammates becomes strong. And when you consider the rough roads taken by Oklahoma defensive ends John Williams and Alonzo Dotson, both fifth-year seniors, it's understandable why theirs is stronger than expected.

So when Williams went down with a torn Achilles tendon in his left leg last Friday night, Dotson couldn't contain his emotion.

Both players came in together in 2003. Each has dealth with tribulations since arriving, from serious injuries to academic problems.

After Friday's win over Tulsa, when Dotson learned of his friend's injury, he broke into tears in the Sooner locker room.

"It just hurt me so bad to see him work so hard... and to get hurt again,” Dotson said. "My heart just really sank. I was torn up. He was holding it together more than I was.

"To see him be strong helped me.”

That crushing moment came after one of the most exciting plays either has been directly involved in during their careers.

Because of Tulsa's unique offense, Williams, who stands 6-foot-5, 260 pounds, ended up in pass coverage, running down the sideline with a fullback. The pass came to his player and he knocked it down.

"That was one of the best plays I've ever seen,” Dotson said. "If he had made a pick, I might have just flipped out on the field. They would've had to call a personal foul, because I would've went crazy.”

CU tickets remain: According to Colorado officials Thursday afternoon, approximately 2,500 tickets remained for Saturday's game. Folsom Field seats 53,750.

OU-Texas to be in HD: Cox Communications and Hearst-Argyle Television announced an agreement Thursday that will restore the high-definition signal for KOCO-5, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City, to the Cox channel lineup.

"We are pleased that corporate officials of both companies have come to this agreement,” said Dave Bialis, president of Cox Oklahoma. "This is especially timely as it will assure a HD broadcast of the OU-Texas game.”

KOCO's HD signal will be broadcast on Cox channel 705.
