Isolated thunderstorms are possible late tonight in Oklahoma as two weather conditions collide over the state, the National Weather Service said this morning.

Some storms may be similar to those that hit Wednesday night.

Storms brought high winds to some parts of the state, including a measured 75 mph gust near Medicine Park in Comanche County.

Thunderstorms knocked down large tree limbs near Cookson in Cherokee County.

There also were reports of tree limbs downed by high winds near Welch in Craig County, near Miami, OK, in Ottawa County and near Westville in Adair County.

Forecasters said more is ahead.

"Dew points will begin to increase over western north Texas and Oklahoma as winds veer gradually to the southeast and a stationary front returns northward as a warm front,” the weather service said.

"Isolated thunderstorms will be possible late tonight as a modest low-level jet develops on top of this retreating frontal boundary.”

Forecasters said the skies should be partly cloudy this morning, with temperatures in the 70s. Highs will heat into the high 80s or low 90s.

The storms will be possible in about the southern half of Oklahoma, but the probability of severe weather will be low.

Areas of dense fog will be possible late tonight over portions of west-central and northwest Oklahoma, where there will be a substantial increase in low-level moisture.

Dense fog is possible early Thursday in northwest Oklahoma.

The probability of storms in the Norman warning area is 40 percent.

The chance of thunderstorms continues Thursday and Thursday night in western Oklahoma, forecasters said.

The next opportunity for storms will be during the weekend. Severe storms are possible, especially Saturday in northwestern Oklahoma.

Temperatures during the period should be mostly in the mid- to high 80s.
