What they're saying

Published: October 6, 2007

"Unquestionably, the Sooners thought they were national title material and still do. Even after free-falling from No. 3 to No. 10. Texas-OU is an elimination game, all right, but for more than just the Big 12 title. Of course, no one around here wants to be caught talking about the Sugar Bowl. Not after what happened last week.”

Kevin Sheridan,

Dallas Morning News

"All eyes will be on the Sooners Sam Bradford and how he handles a game that can be daunting for any quarterback, let alone a redshirt freshman. Texas sophomore QB Colt McCoy is coming off four interceptions and a mild concussion, but he'll be better than Bradford and Texas will beat Oklahoma.”

Desmond Conner,

Hartford (Conn.) Courant

"It's still Texas versus Oklahoma, even if some of the "Game of the Universe” glitter rubbed off when both teams dumped conference games last weekend. Sam Bradford still is coming along nicely as the nation's most steady freshman QB (apologies, Jake Locker) and a hundred thousand people will be washing the taste of bitter early-season stumble out of their mouth with oceans of beer outside the Cotton Bowl.”

Kevin,

I owe you an apology. My comment was directed toward and articel I mistakenly thought was written by you.
Since I read your columns regularly and respect your opinion I was suprised you would pick Texas. Obviously you did not and I was mistaken.

Sorry Rod

Kevin,

Do you ever wager on football? If so I'll take OU and you name your price.

Obviously, you write your opinions based on your preference and not your football knowledge.
