MARIETTA — Just because the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas lost last weekend doesn't mean Sooner fans aren't excited for today's game.

"Yes, I'm excited,” said Patti Gunter of Oklahoma City. "Anytime OU plays, I'm excited.”

Gunter was one among hundreds on their way Friday to Dallas who stopped by the Bevo Bash in Marietta.

Gunter, a season-ticket holder for 30 years, gave advice on how OU can rebound following its 27-24 loss at Colorado.

"I was in Colorado and it was a disappointing loss,” she said. "I think the coaches need to do more trick plays because they have the material. I don't want to see left, right, center. And I think they should get the ball more to Jermaine Gresham — it takes five guys to bring him down.”

Even though the Longhorns' 41-21 loss to Kansas State University diminished the luster of this year's OU-Texas game, Sooner fans said they were glad Texas lost.

"I never want to see Texas win,” said Tommy Coker, 34, of Oklahoma City, who donned a Kansas State visor and has a Wildcats jersey to wear during the game.
