Dobson, AT&T merger to change company
Dobson Communications Corp. is about to complete the great circle of life as a wireless telephone service provider when it is merged into AT&T at the end of the year.
Born 19 years ago as an Oklahoma -only wireless company, Dobson grew aggressively through acquisitions and became a publicly traded company in 1996. It expanded to 17 states and now claims 1.7 million customers in mostly rural areas.
