Chris Brown
With OU struggling in the running game, the Sooners turned to Brown during a key fourth-quarter drive. And the third-team running back delivered, carrying four times for 26 yards, capping the march with a 1-yard scoring run. He also caught a 12-yard pass to convert a critical third down.

Brent Venables and the defense
While the Tigers offense put up some yards and points, the Sooner defense came through with key plays at critical times. The defense produced four turnovers, including a fumble returned for a touchdown. The Sooners bent, but never broke.

PATs
OU's conversion game was lacking. Garrett Hartley missed one extra point and had another blocked. And the Sooners, "chasing points” as Bob Stoops calls it, failed on a pair of two-point conversions.

Especially the infamous OU-Nebraska debacle in 78, which cost OU the National Championship.

Fumbles are what killed the Switzer teams, when they lost. Good calls, Ed.

Chris Brown was solid yesterday. The Defense played like it should have. Two touchdowns were due to short fields because of the TO's. Hartley will come through. One miss was because of a bad hold, the other was from decent field goal range. OU needs to limit the turnovers (fumbles), is about the only thing I am critical of. No fumbles and OU beats Colorado and beats MU even worse.
