One of the night's loudest cheers at Owen Field came after the score of Kentucky's upset over top-ranked LSU was announced. Later in the night, second-ranked Cal was upset by Oregon State. Here's what the OU players had to say about the top two teams in the nation going down Saturday:
•"We heard the LSU score and the crowd erupted. We didn't know what it was at first, then we found out. We were pretty happy. You don't know what's gonna happen in college football these days, so as a team we're trying to go win every game, week-in and week-out. Who knows where we could end up at the end of the season.”
— safety D.J. Wolfe
• "I didn't know they both lost. I heard the crowd screaming one time, I guess about LSU. That's crazy. We know we've got to win every week. We can't worry about what someone else is doing. We've got to focus on us getting better and us beating Iowa State.”
— tailback Chris Brown
• "The way the season's been going, everybody's been losing. Coach (Bob) Stoops told us everything is still in front of us. I'm not really surprised (by the upsets). We've just got to take care of what we do.”
— receiver Juaquin Iglesias
• "I had no idea what the crowd was cheering about, but the whispers got around that LSU had lost. I can't say (the upsets) are surprising. The last three weeks, people have been getting upset. The talent pool is real close together this year.”
— defensive end Auston English
