Hosted by PL Studios in partnership with the Oklahoma Film and Music Commission and McAfee & Taft law firm, the free event will provide demonstrations of top animation software and provide a glimpse into the creating of animated blockbusters such as Ratatouille. PL Studios produces the popular animation program training software, Digital-Tutors.
Students, graphics professionals and gamers are all invited to the conference, said Sandip Patel, chief operating officer at PL Studios.
The forum will feature some of the industry's top professionals in video games, 3D animation, visual effects, advertising and feature films, Patel said. Guest speakers will include Dylan Sisson from Pixar; Mark Schoennagel, SoftImage; Jennifer Goldfinch, SoftImage; Greg Punchatz, Janimation; Peter Robinson, Side Effects; Scott Gagain, House of Moves, Piyush Patel, Digital-Tutors, and special guest moderator, Brad Klepper, McAfee & Taft.
In addition to co-hosting the forum Friday, PL Studios will celebrate its relocation to a new MidTown corporate headquarters at 501 N Walker Ave., Suite 601, with a ribbon-cutting and open house.
Founded in 2002, the company operated from 8101 NW 10 before making the transition to MidTown. The company employs 16 people, Sandip Patel said. Piyush Patel is founder and chief executive.
