Classic hits station KOMA-FM 92.5 retained the top spot as Oklahoma City's most popular radio station for listeners 12 and older in the summer Arbitron ratings. Country station KTST-FM 101.9 and rock station KATT-FM 100.5 tied for second in the tightly bunched market.

KOMA ranked No. 1 in three day parts, with Danny Williams and Lisa Sykes in the morning, Ronnie Kaye in midday and Dave Martin in the afternoon drive. Program director Kent Jones' 9 to 11 a.m. show straddles morning drive and midday.

Among the big winners was contemporary hits KJYO-FM 102.7, which jumped from seventh to fourth. KJYO ranked second in afternoon drive with Kramer's "Big Dumb Fun Show” and dominated the evening with Frito.

Clear Channel Communications market manager Bill Hurley said he was pleased with how well KJYO and KTST fared among women in several age groups.

Syndicated adult contemporary KOJK-FM 97.3 (Jack FM), which has a diverse play list, posted its best book ever with a 1.8.

Among the big losers were classic rock KRXO-FM 107.7, which slipped from fourth to seventh, and regional Mexican station KTUZ-FM 106.7, which showed a 43 percent share loss.

Tyler Media market manager Skip Stow blamed KTUZ's decline on Oklahoma's new immigration law.

"They're scared,” Stow said, referring to some listeners in the Latino community. "They don't want to fill out anything official looking.”

Arbitron compiles its ratings from listener diaries.

25-54 age demographic
KATT topped the 25-54 age demographic, favored by many advertisers, followed by KTST, KRXO, adult contemporary KMGL-FM 104.1 and KOMA.

KATT topped three of the day parts — morning drive with Rick and Brad, midday with Greg Zoobeck and Cisco, and afternoon drive with Jake Daniels.

Citadel Broadcasting operations manager Chris Baker said KATT got a boost from its Kattfest concert, headlined by Korn, at the Zoo Amphitheater on Aug. 21.

KYIS-FM 98.8's "Drew & Kaci Too!” was tops among women in afternoon drive.
