MIDWEST CITY — With Owasso driving to take the lead late in the first half, an Owasso pass headed right toward Midwest City defensive back Antonio Brown.

"Don't drop it, that's the first thing that went through my head,” Brown said.
He didn't.
The junior grabbed the interception, then streaked 63 yards for a touchdown to spark Midwest City to a 28-10 win over Owasso in the Class 6A playoffs at Rose Field on Saturday night.
The win means Midwest City (12-0) will face Jenks on a neutral site in the Class 6A semifinals next weekend.
Brown's interception was the momentum changer as the Bombers learned from their first-round scare against Mustang.
"The tight end slipped and the quarterback threw the pass,” Brown said of the interception. "I thought… if I drop this, they'll be making fun of me during film (room).”
Midwest City's defense took over from there, holding Owasso (9-3) scoreless in the second half and limiting the Rams to five of 17 third-down conversion attempts (29 percent).
"We had to step it up and we did,” Brown said.
It is a formula that carried Midwest City to 12 wins: Quick-striking scoring plays on offense and overwhelming speed on defense.
Running back Tim Flanders had a 50-yard touchdown run and John Flanders added a 69-yard touchdown catch in addition to Brown's interception return.
Those big plays and key defensive stops from the Bombers, especially linebacker Kameron Stewart, has Midwest City believing the tradition has returned.
"Midwest City's back on the map,” Brown said.

Brandon I listen to your on podcast this year. Your the only one that seems to know what he"s talking about!! You said the Bombers had a chance to get this far. Ryan shows that he has no class ! Atleast admitt when your wong. Show these high school kids how to grow up and be humble. Sometimes winnig and being right is easy to take, but losing and being wrong and admitting it shows class and people will respect you.
The Bomber nation is rejoicing! We are finally back to the kind of games that built our tradition and we've never been more ready. Something is different about this year. Coach Darnell...
BOMBER FANS COME SUPPORT "OUR" TEAM ON SATURDAY AT 4:30 PM IN THE FIELDHOUSE PARKING LOT...THE BAND, CHEER, POM WILL ALL BE THERE TO RALLY OUR PLAYERS AGAINST JENKS AND THE NEXT STEP TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
ohh and one more thing Chris...your right..high school sports the magazine does not know what they are talking about...lets see, Norman North and Lawton Ike...ohh wait...
Hey Chris...then it worked...maybe he wont come back to any of our games for good...by the way Ryan...all the football players are gonna pitch in to buy you a shirt that you can wear...its gonna say...BOMBER MAGIC-comin at you like a spider monkey!!! lol
We are the home team, YEAH! As stated on the OSSAA website HOME TEAMS: In the semi-final rounds of the football championship series, the home team shall be on the even numbered lines of the respective class championship bracket in the even-numbered calendar years, and the team on the odd-numbered line of the respective class championship bracket in the odd-numbered calendar years.
Just saw on the OSSAA website where the 6A semifinals are going to be played. The Midwest City vs. Jenks game is at UCO as the Muskogee vs. Union game is at NEOSU. I just hoping that the Bombers are considered the home team and they get sidelined on the west side so our fans get to sit on pressbox side where the boxseats are at, I'd definately prefer that. Only make sense the Bombers be sidelined on the west side as they are the west side team.
It's great to see the BOMBERS back where they belong!
BOMBER magic is alive! Good luck against Jenks, and take state. I will be watching from South of the Red River.

Chris, I'm loving it about the magazine! Ha, I think we proved a lot of people wrong making it this far but you know what, it's completely ok with me! All we have to do now is keep up that Bomber Magic!
Andrew, as you noticed he didn't cover any of the West Side games he was out East. Oh by the way Andrew I let the High School Sport Magazine folks have it last night trying to pass out their monthly issue at the gate (rag is more like it!). I told them that I wasn't going to take it and read that as it was garbage as last month they wrote an article about Norman North being the hope for the West Side and predicted the Bombers and early round upset loser. Looks like they were proven wrong as well!
