NORMAN — Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford will play Saturday against Oklahoma State.

“Everything has checked out and barring any unforeseen circumstances Sam will play this week,” coach Bob Stoops said Thursday.

Bradford suffered a concussion last weekend at Texas Tech. But coaches said he had progressed well during practice this week and doctors cleared him Thursday.

Bradford leads the nation in passing efficiency and needs just two touchdown passes to break the national freshman record for TD throws in a season.

Stoops didn’t release any more information about injured defensive end Auston English, who is doubtful for Saturday.

Since having a rod inserted into his right ankle last week to stabilize a hairline fracture, English has only been able to participate in light drills.

The Sooners already will be without leading rusher DeMarco Murray due to a dislocated kneecap, as well as defensive end Alan Davis (concussion) and wide receiver Adron Tennell (knee).

The people who bring up when OU loses don't get to do it very often. Then, they have to always rely on the blowout loss to USC three years ago when it's been a while since the Sooners have lost. These people are jealous of OU football or anyone who is successful at anything. I call them 'aginners' because they are against anything that is successful.

Bob..how may favorites have bitten the dust this year? Have you been watching college football or are you just hear to bash a team? And, I am not talking about mediocre favorites, I'm talking 4 or 6 #2 ranked teams and a slew of others. Can anyone say Applachian State/Michigan?

9-3 and 10-3??? Crap....OSU would be more than happy with a record like that. When is the last time OSU won even 8 games? Please tell me. It's been so long I cannot remember.

Good point Brian. It's awesome being an OU fan. It's awesome to know that every single year, OU has a chance to win the national championship and Big 12 championship. Not many programs around the country can say that every year they have a chance to win the whole thing, only a select few(OU, USC, LSU, Florida, Ohio St)

Bob, it must be nice to not have any expectations in life. I can tell you don't because you are such a strong agie follower. YOU said it in your note. OU is always the favorite. That tells me yes they are always expected to win. What an expectation. I would say that says alot for the OU program. Now we know you can't win them all but at least OU has the opportunity to do that. What about osu? Not much expectation there. All agies expect them to lose all of their games but guess what just like OU can't win them all osu won't lose them all. Every blind hog (cowboy) finds and acron now and then. GO SOONERS!!!! I love it. No poster, in this string, could be classified as a jerk. Hey Joe, what exactly is an OU fan supposed to say going into Bedlam. We believe the Sooners will win, and we are usually right (4 Big XII titles in 7 years). Hey Ann Arbor, MI and Signal Hill, CA, OU doesn't win them all (no one does), but the Sooners are always in the conference and national title hunt. Deal with it! Boomer Sooner!

No one figured in the QB injury. Things happen. If we win the big-12 and the bcs bowl game, it will be a 12-2 season with a top 5 ranking. that is an excellent record. we get the same guys next year on offense and a qb that will no longer be a freshman. we should dominate next year

Bob - Have you watched any college football this year? Obviously teams lose. Even the powerhouses. Standford over USC, App. State over Michigan, Kentucky over LSU, Illinois over THE real osu, many beat florida, all those #2's that lost this year, Oregon, BC, etc, etc. Chill out. Just a question for all of you arrogant OU fans...when is the lsst time OU played someone and was an underdog? I really don't know, but can't think of any this year or last. And yet they find a way to lose to some mid-tier teams almost every year, and when they play a really GOOD team they almost always lose. Think USC 55, OU 17. I think they were favored the year before against LSU and still blew it. With the always, ALWAYS huge talent advantage they have, this just represents inadequate coaching. They should never lose, but manage to do so anyway.
