ORU timeline
1963 — Oral Roberts University is built and is noted for its then-futuristic architecture.
1965 — ORU opens as a nondenominational school in south Tulsa. First buildings include a six-story learning resources center, a seven-story women’s dorm and two smaller men’s dorms.
1971 — The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools .
