Former Sports Animal programmer Kalusa dies

Ray Kalusa, who was program director of the Sports Animal Radio Network and a KYIS-FM 89.9 personality from 1997 to 2003, was killed Nov. 21 in a traffic accident in Glendora, Calif., while en route to visit his mother in Las Vegas. Kalusa left the Sports Animal to become program director for ESPN Radio in Los Angeles. He was 49.

FSN covers Big 12 final: FSN's coverage of the Big 12 final will include a 30-minute "Big 12 Championship Preview Show” at 6 p.m. Saturday and a 30-minute wrapup at midnight. "Southwest Football Saturday,” at 5:30 p.m., also will analyze the game.

Big 12 games boost ABC: The Kansas-Missouri football game Saturday night was ABC's highest-rated Saturday night game this season with a 7.0 overnight rating. The OU-Texas Tech game Nov. 17 earned a 4.4, also above the network average of 3.6 for the time slot. ESPN's "College GameDay” broadcast Saturday from Arrowhead Stadium set a series viewership record with 2 million households (2.1 rating).
