Sanders' rushing record threatened
Barry Sanders ' single-season NCAA rushing record might be broken later this month, even though Sanders technically would still own the record.

Sanders rushed for 2,628 yards during his 1988 Heisman Trophy season. Central Florida 's Kevin Smith has rushed for 2,448 yards. If Smith rushes for 181 yards in the Liberty Bowl he will officially break Sanders' Division I-A record.
