OU football notebook: Regents approve renovations to football stadium

The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents approved up to $12.5 million on Wednesday for renovations and improvements to Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The monies will go toward renovations of the Barry Switzer Center, including the team locker room, shower and restroom areas and sports medicine and equipment room spaces.

The west mezzanine of the stadium will also be renovated to provide additional offices for the athletics department. Emergency lighting for the public concourses of the stadium will also be installed.

Construction is expected to begin this month and be largely completed before next football season.

Lofton, Robinson make another All-America team: OU linebacker Curtis Lofton and guard Duke Robinson have been named to SportsIllustrated.com's All-America team.

Quarterback Sam Bradford, offensive tackle Phil Loadholt, tight end Jermaine Gresham, defensive end Auston English and cornerback Reggie Smith made SI.
