‘Chipmunks' charm can't save struggling plot
Based on the horrid hip-hop poster and poop-joke previews, I expected the worst. But the " Alvin and the Chipmunks ” movie offers fun and nostalgic family viewing in a musical holiday package.
Still, it's a live action/computer-animated movie about chipmunks who talk, sing and crack wise. Temper your expectations accordingly.
