Counties fear cost of care for cons
In a ruling with statewide ramifications, the state Supreme Court said Tuesday that counties are liable for jail inmates' medical care even when it includes medical conditions occurring before their arrest.
The 8-0 ruling involved a $2.2 million dispute over medical payments for treating prisoners in the Oklahoma County jail from February 2003 through September 2006.
