Sooners' Cooper is full of Lambkin pride
Center used to jokes about unusual mascot
PHOENIX — Ask Oklahoma center Jon Cooper about his high school's nickname, and he responds beaming with pride.
"The Fort Collins ( Colo. ) Lambkins, the purple and gold,” said Cooper, a three-year starter for the Sooners. "Aw man, it was great. We had a lot of school pride. Purple pride.”
What exactly is a lambkin?
"It's actually a fetal lamb, a lamb that hasn't been born yet,” Cooper said.
