Nichol not going anywhere
Over the weekend, Gary Nichol, the father of Oklahoma quarterback Keith Nichol, told the Grand Rapids (Mich.) Press that his son loves OU, in spite of the fact that Sam Bradford appears ingrained as the long-term starter.

"Keith loves OU, he loves the coaches, the players, the facilities; he even loves the weather,” Gary Nichol said. "He is flourishing, and he is happy and proud to be a part of Oklahoma football.”

Leave it to the peanut gallery of morons who post here to find fault in a quarterback who led the nation in pass efficiency as a freakin' redshirt freshman. The command in the pocket will come. Nichol isn't beating out Bradford. He isn't.

No athlete of Nichol's caliber is o.k with being the back-up. He's staying because he things he can win the starting job. What a difference from the last couple of years. Didn't even know if we had a QB, now we have two that could play anywhere.

Britton, my thoughts exactly. Bradford is a good player but the circumstances have to be right. I also think that he has not shown a command leadership in the huddle. The Sooner's problem appears to be the coaching that will not bench a player for poor play, i.e Loadholt, Robinson etc. I am glad Nichol is staying with the school and team. I hope he gets an opportunity to show us what he has got.

Wow, this is an impressive kid. I hope the very best for him. In an age where athletes are out for themselves this is cool.

Bradford looks like, grandma forgot her walker, when he tries to scramble. And when things are going bad he has that same look in his eye that Jason White had in the Orange Bowl against SC. Maybe a little two QB system wouldn't be too bad... throwing in Nichol once in a while to just change things up a little.

His "stock" has gone up with me! He could go somewhere else and start but I am glad he is staying here and will try to beat out Bradford next year. I think he is a good QB....

This says a lot about this kid. Not because he "loves Oklahoma" because there are a lot of great programs that he could love. But he obviously puts his commitments and relationships and his team well above his own desire to be the starting QB. Hang in there Keith.
