The 800-seat Armstrong Auditorium will provide more space for the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation to host its performing arts series. The series is part of the community outreach mission of the foundation, the college and the church that founded them, the Philadelphia Church of God.

"We want them to see the best of the human spirit,” said Dennis Leap, director of public relations for the church, which is headquartered on campus.

Leap said construction is expected to take about 22 months, but officials hope it will be completed in 19 months so that it will open in the fall of 2009.

The 800-seat, eight-story auditorium is modeled after the Ambassador Auditorium, in Pasadena, Calif. Ambassador was home to the Worldwide Church of God and was known for its concerts.
Shane Granger, marketing director for the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation, said he worked in the auditorium while he attended Ambassador College. "Really, my cultural education was in that building,” Granger said. "You had to be world class to perform in that building.”
Leap said Armstrong College's performing arts center will support the college's mission of educating the whole personality of the student. Students will work before, during and after performances.
"If you put human beings in a high quality environment, you're going to get high quality input,” Leap said. "It's a house to honor God. You want to give him the best.”

Armstrong College, Armstrong Auditorium, AICF are all part of a front for a mind control triple-tithe religious cult in Edmond headed by Gerald Flurry. See www.pcog.info to check out some of the real facts about Armstrong College and Gerald Flurry besides those provided in your story. The Philadelphia Church of God has some troubling similarities to the Branch Davidian cult in Waco. This unfiltered news release by the cult in newsok.com needs to be better researched and balanced out with additional facts in the story besides those whoppers provided by Flurry's minister Dennis Leap.
