Chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, bacon and cheesesteak all sound like normal parts of meals, but what about when they’re all combined in one sandwich?

These are the ingredients of the Fat Milf, the most popular sandwich at the Fat Sandwich Company, located at 759 Asp in Norman. This establishment came about after two eager Rutgers graduates decided to go into the restaurant business instead of donning a suit and tie like their classmates.

After being inspired by a traveling food vendor that would frequent the night life near Rutgers, Cole Lewko and Adam Pearlman went on a road trip to locate the perfect spot for a similar idea. During their search, they traveled to over 50 college towns.

“The University of Oklahoma and Norman were a great fit,” said Lewko.

He said when the store first opened, people thought it was just another mundane sandwich place.

“When they found out what we sell, they were all over the place,” said Lewko.

Although the restaurant has only been here eight months, it has already attracted much attention with its bizarre ingredients and sandwich names. For instance, the Fat WalkofShame contains cheesesteak, bacon, egg, mayo and ketchup whereas the Fat Mess is full of mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, fried mushroom, mac N’ chesse bites, pizza bits, ranch dressing and barbecue. All Fat sandwiches are served with the fries stuffed in with the rest of the ingredients.
