Release valve: Parole system worth reviewing
T HE state Pardon and Parole Board held its regular meeting last week. Board members, who had already spent many hours reviewing the cases on this month's docket, worked from Tuesday until Friday and then sent their recommendations to the governor, who is sure to sign off on far fewer paroles than the board suggests. This routine will be repeated next month, and the month after that, and so on.
