Manny in Pampa: For one, I wouldn't work for the OUklahoman -- it's nothing more than an extension of the Swooner Sports Information Department. You wouldn't notice the tricks the hacks and editors use to influence puplic opinion in favor of OU. You're one of the easily lead and mislead.
If I wrote sports, you wouldn't like it probably because I wouldn't feed you the pablum you and your OU peers demand, expect and receive in large doses.

i totally agree. after reading articles from the tulsa world, there is a very noticeable difference between that and the oklahoman. its that the oklahoman is basically an extension of "ou". i understand that ou fans make up the majority of the state, and that they have a phenomenal football program. but keep the unneccesary comparisons out of articles. it almost makes me dizzy and sick at times.
As an OSU fan, I hope this new venture does not become an exclusive 'ou' website, as with the the other local radio show that claim to be Sports shows but are nothing but ou loves fests.
I, for one, am boycotting this new site. It will do nothing but bring idiots out of the woodwork whose sole purpose is to talk meaningless, ignorant trash on a rampant basis. There's enough of that on Oklahoman threads as it is. Why would I visit a site that is dedicated to it? Its the equivilent to Jerry Springer on the internet and the people who created it knew that going in. Why would anyone want to participate in this? But then again, why would anyone want to get on National TV and embarrass themselves on Jerry Springer...
Danny, if Tramel, Carlson and Rhode are so bad,
maybe you could get a job as a sports writer for
the Oklahoman and then all the problems of "stikin',
poorly written, badly researched and overtly biased
biased yellow journalism" would be solved.
As long as we don't have to put up with this paper's Swooner sycophants; Tramel, Carlson and Rohde, this site may be a breath of fresh air for their stinkin', poorly written, badly researched, and overtly biased yellow journalism.
This fan-on-fan mudslinging won't keep the previously mentioned Three Stooges from continuing their below average attempt at "journalism", but it increases the chances that we non-Swooner fans will find something interesting in this sports page.
That's why I enjoy reading the Tulsa World so much more.
What's amazing is that the World has a Tramel and he IS professional.
