EDMOND — A joint operation between the Oklahoma County Sheriff's office and Edmond police to cut down on traffic and alcohol-related violations netted nine arrests in a four-hour period Saturday, a sheriff's spokesman said.
A checkpoint was set up from 6 to 10 p.m. at Post Road and State Highway 66 near Lake Arcadia. Deputies and officers were looking for everything from drivers with no state licenses or insurance verification to criminal activity to people wanted on misdemeanor and felony warrants.
Spokesman Mark Myers said more than 40 citations and nearly 20 warnings were issued.
Four people were arrested on complaints of driving with a suspended license, three people were arrested on outstanding warrants, one person was arrested on complaint of driving under the influence and one person was arrested on a complaint of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Myers said.
