Bill would exempt federal tax rebates from state tax

A state senator wants to exempt the proposed federal tax rebates from the Oklahoma income tax.

Senator Don Barrington says he'll amend a bill he's sponsoring that would expand the state sales tax holiday to include school supplies and include an exemption for the tax rebates.

The Lawton Republican says state taxes on the rebates would diminish the impact of the stimulus package.
