"We're very excited about our new facility in Norman,” said Max Fairchild, dealer principal of Automax Hyundai. "We have many customers in this area, and we look forward to being able to serve them better, as well as the new friends and customers we'll soon meet. It was a natural step to open our newest dealership in this thriving community.”

The Norman dealership joins two other Automax Hyundai stores in the Oklahoma City area.

Band fundraiser raffle gives man a ‘charge'
Bob Howard Chrysler Jeep Dodge will present keys to a 2008 Dodge Charger to Edmond resident David Gaither today at the dealership at 13250 N Broadway.

Gaither won by donating funds to Edmond Santa Fe's band as part of the Dodge Hometown Scholarship Program.

Forty-nine high schools participated in the program in which band boosters and students collected $5 donations from community members, who were then entered for a chance to win a new Dodge. The money raised by the bands is used for scholarships and operational needs.

"This program gave our dealership an opportunity to directly impact and participate in our community,” said John Zapp, general manager of Bob Howard Chrysler Jeep Dodge. "As one of our most popular vehicles, we're happy to see the Charger end up in good hands. Donating the Dodge Charger and supporting these students is the least we can do to support bands and music education.”

The Dodge Hometown Scholarship Program ran from Aug. 13 to Nov. 9. Dodge helped bands in several states raise more than $1 million in scholarship funds.

Chesapeake donates pickup for drawing
Chesapeake Energy Corp. recently donated a pickup to be raffled off during the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts' annual meeting Feb. 24-26 in Oklahoma City.

"Chesapeake Energy has been a longtime supporter of conservation in Oklahoma,” said Scotty Herriman, president of the association. "We are extremely excited that they have so generously donated this truck to help further conservation work in our state. They are truly committed to the conservation and protection of our soil, water, air and wildlife habitats.”

The drawing for the vehicle will be open to any Conservation District that is current with its dues and has at least one district director registered for the entire state meeting. Additional tickets will be given to districts for each additional director registered. The drawing for the truck, a quarter-ton four-wheel-drive fleet vehicle, will take place Feb. 25 during the annual meeting's legislative banquet

"Donating this truck is a way we at Chesapeake can help highlight the importance of environmental responsibility and further the conservation work which is critical to maintaining a high quality of life in our state,” said Tom Price Jr., Chesapeake's senior vice president of corporate development.
