Meningitis case prompts free tests

NORMAN — Goddard Health Center at the University of Oklahoma will give free meningitis evaluations and antibiotics to students through Friday in response to an OU student being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

OU President David Boren issued a statement on the university’s Web site saying the state Health Department notified OU officials Monday of the positive test.
