Childhood vaccines seen as key to health

An advisory committee of the Oklahoma Health Department is recommending — but not yet requiring — two new vaccinations for all adolescents at age 12.

One vaccine is for meningitis; the other shot covers both tetanus and whooping cough, public health authorities said Wednesday.
