Oklahoma's first exchange-traded fund made up exclusively of stocks issued by the state's publicly traded companies could begin trading by late April, an official with Capital West Securities said Thursday.

"We expect to ‘ring the bell' at the American Stock Exchange in late April,” said Keith Geary, Capital West president.

Capital West announced in January its intentions to create the fund, which would track the performance of Oklahoma stocks.

Geary said a portion of the fund's management fees would be allocated to an Oklahoma nonprofit agency that advocates for children's medical issues.
