Seniors warned of prescription dangers
The medicine cabinet can be the most dangerous part of the home for senior citizens.
The numbers tell the story, says Mark Stratton , director of the University of Oklahoma Institute for Geriatric Pharmacy:
•Seniors represent 13 percent of the population.
•Seniors consume one-third of prescriptions and 40 to 50 percent of over-the-counter medications.
•Seniors account for half the deaths from me...
